I’d augment the core troops with fire-support and stormtrooper squads, and tanks tanks tanks! I would use lots of base troops and have as many Commissars as possible to keep order and hopefully lend a little strength to squads in melee. In choosing my army I decided that I would not field any Abhuman troops like Ratlings and Ogryns. This army was my main Warhammer 40K army for most of the late 90’s -2003 or so. (An old acquiaintance had a killer Valhallan Ice Warrior army complete with custom sentinels that was really cool, however.) And while I liked the Valhallans, I didn’t want to deal with snowy bases. (Actually, that appealed to me as well, as by the time I started playing Guard, special characters had fallen out of favor.) I never liked the Catachans, found the Rough Riders silly, didn’t really dig the Tallarns or the Cadians. I chose the Mordian Iron Guard because they were the chapter that appealed to me most, despite them not having any special characters in the Codex. What really drew me to the Imperial Guard is not really all that unusual: I wanted to field tanks and blow shit up. This time it’s my favorite old Imperial Guard faction: the Mordian Iron Guard. This message was edited 1 time.Once again, a look back on my old armies. Truthfully you could probably field them as Russes and be fine, if you wanted a Macharius stand-in though I think you'll be out of luck.Įdit: Here's a link from the KS, it's a review done by a German website - scroll down for size comparison pics: So it appears it's a small amount larger than a Russ, but I don't know if it would be that noticeable and it's not Macharius sized either save maybe the height. Macaharius dimensions: l: 20cm w: 11cm(without sponsons, 13cm with) h: 6cm(without turret, vulcan turret adds 2.5cm) Leman Russ dimensions: l: 11.43cm w: 7.62cm h: 6.85cm(this was done by eye, I didn't have a turret on mine to double check, the hull height without the turret was 5cm) And I'm not very familiar with Forge World vehicles.įrom the kickstarter page: Dimensions are: length: 15cm width: 8,5cm hight with turret 7-8cm It looks too big to be used as a Leman Russ.
